‘Em Wedding Bells (well, metaphorically)

Current Telly: Grounded For Life

Yeep…another wedding invitation! And five upcoming ones for next year…sheesh! Takes me back to the time when Madame Eagle was saying about the stages that we’re going through:

1) The stage of "engagement invites" for me

2) The stage of "wedding invites" for Maggoty (and I’m getting there!)

3) The stage of "baby shower invites" for Mimi

4) The stage of "kids’ birthday parties invites" for her

5) I suppose "retirement invites" for the Gila Monster? Hehehe…

Anyways, Fa’s wedding was yesterday. That was really mental and I was ecstatic that 90% of us managed to make it…well, we’ve gotta since she’s the very first one to start the trend among the Swiss chicks. I just hope there won’t be any clashes next year, since there’re talks that four of the chicks are looking at August. 08/08, geddit? Anyhows, fab pics are up on my "Photos" section…will be uploading the rest into Shutterfly one of these days. One of these dayssss….

We wrapped the day up with a session at Coffee Club… reminiscing the good old days. About ol’ flames we’d rather forget…JUNIORS who have got their own lil’ families…teacher/s whom we had crushes on…

Here’s a list of the colourful characters we’ve got in the Swiss 11 Girls:

1) The "jiwang" one

2) The "tai-tai" one

3) The "fanatic Spice Girls fan"

4) The "Mrs Ryan Giggs" / "Death to Spice Girls"

5) The "Chocolates make you stupid" one

6) The one with lots of "adik angkat"

7) The "sarcastic" one

8) The "impersonating" one

Then we didn’t get to the last three ‘cos we digressed from the topic. I’ll try to get to those remaining three when we next meet, hopefully right after my upcoming hiatus.

I was an outcast for not having experienced suspension in my ol’ school days…and the S11G claimed I was the "rebel"! Let’s talk about irony…

Manic Wednesday

Current Music: Manic Monday (The Bangles)

It’s icky that I’m feeling sickly everytime I get up in the morning for the past couple of days. Guess I really need that rest…big time! What’s on the Filo for my next off day…oh yea, the wedding. Hopefully I’ll get my well-deserved restie the following day. Ought to be a great day of trip down the memory lane.

Note to self: Not to have Japonais for at least the whole of next month…not after a glorious hour of trying to finish 3/4’s of everything we ordered *bleugh*

I can’t exactly understand how anyone could patronize this particular apparels store at Vivo…seated somewhere on the ground level. Friggin’ layout simply drove me nuts. Guess it’s just too bad they might have a horrible visual merchandiser on their payroll. Fiq and I spent barely five minutes before we were dying to get out of there (five ‘cos the store is massive). River Island, on the contrary, was very much easier on the eyes in comparison. Never undermine the power of brilliant presentation!

(I wonder if they’re reaping good biz ‘cos they’re beating the conventions of the age ol’ supply-demand theory? Interesting business strategy…)

Met Munge and Filly again in the evening after hopping into the island for a bit. *What’s with the menage a trois lately* You might think I don’t have any other friends besides those two…hahah! Let’s put it this way…I’m simply enjoying conferences involving three intelligent minds connecting. Especially since one’s my b***h and the other’s my mistress. Sigh…and don’t even remind me of that worrisome 30 min last night. I should stop getting all paranoid.

Pustular vermins bore me to death…and if i’m desperately attempting to cut the convo short, then you know you’re one! *evil laugh*

Can I pretend that I’ve totally forgotten about the trip next month and splash on shopping???!!

Current Music: Summer Love (Justin Timberlake)

Good way to start the morn…I’ve got the Munge blaring into my ear with her wake-up call. And we ended up laughin’ at ‘em peeps who have to dress up to get to work…Munge’s Location: City Hall

Before I knew it, I’ve got five peeps on MSN…on a TUESDAY MORNING! So I’ve got a couple of hours till that Sakae date with the Koochie…

Just waiting for Az’s reply…’cos if she’s not available, then I’d be heading for town after lunch. Hmm…about two hours in between. What shall we do…hmmph *tapping fingers*

Can I just curl up in my abode…and hibernate for the whole day?

Catch-ups

Current Music: Angels (Robbie Williams)

So surreal…bro left for service yesterday morning.

1) I don’t have anyone to annoy at home now.

2) No one is going to shut me up when I’m in one of those happy bunny moods and start singing Mika’s Grace Kelly in the early hours of morning from my bed.

3) No booming laughter that shocks me in the middle of the night when he’s on Skype with his WOW buddies.

4) No one to tell me that my dressing looks "OK" when I ask for opinions as I’m leaving home…which literally means: "Yea, yea, you look fantastic…now get out of my hair!"

5) No one to share my daily cuppa goss and rants after a long day at work

6) No one to agree with me that some people are natural-born losers and ought to be vacuumed by the Galactus (well, I simply added on the last part)

Sigh…oh well, two weeks. Should be seeing him end of the month before I leave.

On a better note, my social life is kinda on a high lately…surprise surprise. I believe it was never like this the past couple of years…wonder if it was really the traviller that weighed me down so much that I didn’t even have the time at all. But it was real nice getting to catch up with the ol’ peeps.

Past week has been rather mental…

Monday: Caught up with Grace after work…tonnes of updates. Très hereux for her now that she’s happier. She very much deserves it…sigh

Tuesday: Met Izah at the Airport…it’s the ol’d chick’s birthday on Sunday. So got her a book titled "How to Walk in High Heels"…the title caught my eyes since I first saw it at Borders and was friggin’ tempted to get it for myself ‘cos I simply love the layout. Great packaging works big time for me! Anyways, I simply HAD to get it for her when I saw the chapter on "Tackling Your Technophobia"…hehe…and of course the "high heels" part *evil laughter*

Wednesday: Went to IKEA Tampines with Miru and Anissa. Darn massive…good thing managed to get the stuff on my to-buy list before they closed à dix heures. So we left the building…saw that Giant, which is across the street, closes at 12.00am and Miru et moi had gleeful smiles on our faces! Left après an hour later after some rather productive buys…

Thursday: Evening with the Silver Surfer avec la Mungen et la Filly. Parce que my bro decided at the last minute it’s more cool to be watching it with his buds…a**! But I’m in good company, so that’s fine. Anyways, we had a rather interesting start with deciding which theatre is worth going…Munge and I ended it off with a round of Perdana till 2.00ish in the morn. Movie rating: 3.5/5

Friday: Send off at Tekong…sucky NS lunch…emo stuff, so I shall spare the details. Hmm, come to think of it, it didn’t exactly hit us till after we parted ‘cos we were too busy making jokes about Papa. Then I went, "Ma, it’s only two friggin’ weeks…you didn’t even shed a tear when I left for Cambodia for THREE WEEKS!" Her reply? "You’re there to have fun…that’s different". Yea sure…building drains and trenches was f… well as a matter of fact, it WAS fun. With all the nutcases around me especially.

So part deux of le jour…met up with the Filly and the Munge. Had to practically drag the Filly’s a** outta her house before she decided to get all lazy…I’m beginning to pick that one up. Had a round of Sushi Tei ‘cos of our fave tempura squid…the usual round of Spinelli (and hot choc from CB ‘cos she’ll cry if she didn’t have it). Guess what…we managed to resist MUJI!! Hee..

Then Uncle "Farid" popped by…some comic relief there. Munge had to meet Kums at Lido, so Filly and I went to Centrepoint to pick Papa’s pants. Dropped by TIMES for a moment of intellect. Last stop for the evening.

Hee…I like looking at my Filofax for this week :D

Interesting Fact for the Day: My colour personality is RED

Current ReaIisation: It is raining cats and dogs

Current Music: You Really Got Me (Van Halen)

I can’t stand sexist convos…PERIOD.

Well, I suppose I can stick around for a bit if there’re valid issues and both parties have sensible arguments to address. But comments of low intelligence humours me (dry haha)…that I find it’s a total waste of time to even listen. Ooh, let me correct that…not listen…HEAR.

You don’t go around coming up with crap like countries that fail are run by women…utter lameness. I could’ve presented statistics…but that’ll just make you fall flat on the ground with dirt on yer face. If you can’t think far ahead for a smart comeback, don’t even think of messing around with the wrong species.

I’m not here to argue which gender is more superior…I believe in gender equality. Some women are intelligent…some might be on the other extreme end. Same theory applies for men…no exclusion.

So gentlemen, please think with an intelligent head on your shoulders before you start spewing words that will just shoot right back at your a**e. When ladies don’t reply you, we are not admitting defeat…it’s simply too much of a child’s play for us to get involved in non-productive activities such as that. We’d rather take a seat back and make mental notes, planning the next personal indulgence we’re going to spend a bomb on…that’s WAY more productive, don’t you think?

I suppose I’ve been spending too much time in the circle of intelligent women in the past two years, where the high heels rule (at least mine)…that a sudden bastion of male chauvinism is quite a culture shock for me.

Thank God my bro isn’t a typical MCP. ‘Cos he worships me…SECRETLY. I figured that one on my own…hahah!

Current Music: Pulangkan (Misha Omar & Ezad)

Was just going through my photo albums from the previous overseas trips, and came across one group journal from the Sri Lankan expedition two years ago. Here’s a silly excerpt…when 10 hopelessly bored people tried to connect:

"Once upon a time, there were three little bears / and there was a grandfather bear / who had no fur / and a big nose. / And a grandmother bear / who had two big shiny teeth / and the baby bear whose parents died in the tsunami./ They lived happily ever after./

But wait! Goldilocks hadn’t entered the scene./ Goldilocks was called by some other name in Sri Lanka./ She was called Karuppu./ She came in a disguise, / later mistaken for an African./ She ate a table full of food and got diarrhoea / and she was happy about it./ She really loved the moments in the cubicle / so she could sit down and think / about Ravi!!/ She reached into the pockets ad got some diarrhoea pills / to which she had side effects / of mental disorder! So she saw Ravi everywhere! /

Suddenly, / Ravi did <a drawing of two index fingers overlapping one over the other>. / Karuppu was taken aback but / she was secretly happy that it happened. / However, / the three bears were coming back to the house. / Lightning struck and killed the three bears instantly / and returned Karuppu to her original state./ Suddenly Nissan came to her rescue / and saved Ravi from Karuppu. /

Then Karuppu went to the shower./ But before anything could happen, she slipped and fell / landing on Nissan./ So he asked, "Karuppu! Are you ok? " / She said, "I’m punctured with nails, you think I’m ok?"/ He said, "I know you would be ok", / and let her fall to the ground./ THE END"

Well, basically we were all contributing to the storyline, attempting to inject some juicy details based on the chain of incidents in Hambantota. Might not make any sense to an average person, but I’m sure the ORIGAMi T-Team will have a blast taking a trip down this memory lane…hee!

I hope Jayson’s working tomorrow…ok, gotta get ready for work!
